• Violence against women is a social, economic, and mental issue. According to National Crime Research Bureau (NCRB), a woman is subjected to domestic violence every 4.4 minutes in India. 

OVERVIEW - THE PROBLEM

• Not every woman is aware and can understand the remedies available to them when rights are violated thus many cases go unreported. 

• Hesitate to approach a lawyer to talk about their legal problems and understand possible legal remedies. 

• Cannot afford costly legal fees because of their economic and social backwardness. a perception that free service is incompatible with quality service.

• Many aggrieved women's & girls' cases go unreported and they continue being oppressed.
